Overview

Jurassic Solar+ is a 220 MWac, 80MW/160MWh advanced stage co-located solar and battery storage project located on approximately 1,170 acres of land in Cypress County, Alberta.

The project will be 220 MWac in size, with 80 MW/160MWh of battery energy storage and will involve installing approximately 486,000 solar PV modules, 71 inverter/transformer stations, a battery energy storage system, an electrical collection system, access paths and the construction of a Project Substation to connect to the Alberta Interconnected Electric System (AIES).

Features

The Jurassic co-located Solar and Energy project will generate emissions-free electricity for more than 60,000 homes.
The project will offset more than 137,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions, annually.
The Project will use inverters and transformers to convert the Direct Current (DC) electricity from the solar PV module to Alternating Current (AC) electricity and increase the voltage to connect to the Alberta electricity grid.
