Overview |
Oneida Energy Storage facility is a 250 MW/1,000 MWh lithium-ion battery energy storage facility, representing the largest grid-scale battery energy storage facility in Canada and within the top five clean energy storage projects in the world. It delivers critical capacity and improved efficiency to Ontario’s electricity grid and doubles the amount of energy storage resources on the provincial grid from 225 MW to 475 MW today. Oneida Energy Storage is Northland’s first strategic investment in battery energy storage and the company’s first operational energy storage facility. The project was delivered ahead of schedule and under budget through a collaborative partnership with the Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (SNGRDC), NRStor Inc. (NRStor), Aecon Concessions and the Mississaugas of the Credit Business Corporation (MCBC). Northland is the majority owner and will oversee operations of the facility. |
