TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - January 19, 2017) - Northland Power Inc. ("Northland") (TSX: NPI) (TSX: NPI.PR.A) (TSX: NPI.PR.B) (TSX: NPI.PR.C) (TSX: NPI.DB.B) (TSX: NPI.DB.C) announced today that the Supreme Court of Canada did not grant the Ontario Electricity Financial Corporation ("OEFC") leave to appeal the legal case concerning the interpretation of power purchase agreements related to Northland's wholly-owned subsidiary, Iroquois Falls Power Corp. and Northland's managed facilities, Cochrane Power Corporation and Kirkland Lake Power Corporation (collectively, the "Northland Applicants").



This final decision confirms that the Northland Applicants will retain all payments received to date from OEFC and will continue to earn revenues per Northland Applicants' interpretation of the contracts.
